I just spent way too long trying to get a pican-m working with a fresh install of pi 12. Gave up and rolled back to a pre-built open-plotter build based on debian 11.
My naive take is that moving the dtparams to /boot/firmware/config.txt isn’t where they need to be - has anyone gotten this working yet?
Hey Steve, the dtoverlays flag just didn’t seem to have any effect when in /boot/firmware/config.txt. Specifically the mcp2515 flag. I think I tried putting it in /boot/firmware/usercfg and referencing usrconfig from config.txt as well? I’m a bit rusty, debian has changed a bit in the last few years, so I could well have missed something obvious.
But no, no errors, just refused to find can0, didn’t see the mcp251x module loaded. Tried loading it with modprobe, but still no joy.
Stuck a pre-canned openplotter image on there and up it came. Great article btw, I’m truly impressed with Signal-K.
