Many folks are asking about whether Starlink is a viable alternative for internet connectivity on the boat. I'll cover what I know and link to some other useful bits of info.

I’ve done some additional testing with my own Starlink unit for about 2 weeks in marinas, docks, and at anchor, as well as on land and will be providing an updated article in the next few weeks on my observations. These include:

  • Challenges with sailboat masts in marinas

  • Using Starlink with prosumer or other routers
